Your Healing Journey
Phase 01

Protective Barrier

Your artist applies a Second Skin bandage immediately. This breathable, waterproof shield is your first line of defense against bacteria.

Fluid buildup (plasma/ink) is normal. It means the bandage is working.

Days 1-3

The Waiting Period

Keep the bandage on for 48-72 hours. It is waterproof—you can shower normally, but avoid submerging it in baths or pools.

Removal Protocol

  • 1. Remove in a warm shower to loosen the adhesive.
  • 2. Pull the film along the skin (like a Command strip), not away from it.
  • 3. Wash immediately with fragrance-free soap.
Days 3-14

Wash & Moisturize

Once the bandage is off, your routine shifts to gentle maintenance. Treat your tattoo like the open wound it is.

3x
Wash daily with fragrance-free soap We recommend Samurai Foaming Wash
Dry
Pat dry with clean paper towel only
Oil
Thin layer of tattoo butter (don't smother it) We recommend Urban's Edge Whipped Tattoo Butter
Strictly Avoid
  • NO swimming, hot tubs, or baths for 2-3 weeks (showers only).

  • NO direct sunlight or tanning beds on the healing tattoo.

  • NO picking, scratching, or peeling flakes. Let them fall off naturally.

  • NO heavy sweating or intense workouts for the first 3-4 days.

Forever Care
  • Always apply SPF 30+ sunscreen to healed tattoos to prevent fading. Try Midnight Sand Natural Sunscreen SPF 32
  • Keep skin moisturized to maintain sharp lines and vibrant colors.

  • Touch-ups are available after 4-6 weeks once the skin has fully regenerated.
